My New Hunt'in Buddy....

The pictures explain it all!!!!!!

...and after a long day in the woods.

Winter Wonderland!!!!

This is what it looked like at my house after the "Blizzard of 2010." We got about 3 more inches after this totalling around 20" or so.

Mia loves the snow and turns into a rambunctious creature. This was after we got about 4 inches or so. She could really rip around.

This was the morning after. All she could do was just hop and bounce as high as possible to get around. Then she would follow her same tracks.

St. Bernards are known for having to dig and find stranded or injured people in the Alps. They are supposed to have one of the best sniffers out of all dogs. As you can see, it's amazing what's in there blood, because she loves burying her nose in the snow.

Still Growing...

The last time I updated Mia's growth she was 17.8" and 29 lbs. I didn't post last week but I still measured....

1/24/10- 18.6" tall and 29.8 lbs.
1/31/10- 19.2" tall and 33.6 lbs.

Yes she is still growing and being ornerier than ever. She has grown over 2" and still manages to sleep under the bed every night! I have no idea how???? She is quite lazy and/or spoiled at times. When trying to teach her how to get up on the couch this involved a lot of lifting. She would just bark and bark until I lift her back legs up on the couch.

She stayed like this one day for 20 minutes chewing on her bone, went and got a drink and came back and did for 15 more minutes. Too lazy to finish getting up on the couch.

Although soon I think I will probably regret teaching her to lay on the couch, because she gets a running start and she doesn't care if the couch is occupied!!!

I don't have a clue what she was doing here, I just happen to have the camera. CHEEZE!

Kate likes to snap pictures all the time and I pulled this off her memory card. It has got to be one of my favorite pictures.....

How on earth do you get a picture of a dog blinking?!?!?!?

Cute Ball of Orneriness....

And yes, orneriness is spelled right. I looked it up. LOL

Well, well it's another Monday and you know what that means. I also think Mia knows what it means. The first time I measured her she was fine with it. Now, not so. She does not like to stand still up against a wall, but i tried anyhow.

Drum roll please...... Yesterday she was 14 weeks old. Last week she was 16.6" and 26 lbs., incase you forgot. Today she is 29 lbs., and 17.8" tall (give or take a tenth of an inch).

Growing like a pig on steroids, she seems to think she is still small. She likes to chase the cat and hense taught her, oh look the cat goes under the bed. hhmm, can I? First it was just her head, laying there barking at the cat and then, yes, yes I can fit!

So this is now her most favorite place in the world......

So, we had to clean everything out from under the bed, so she didn't go there for a snack of some sort. At first she listened great, now... huh. She can be just a bit stubborn, which is going to suck when she is 120 lbs. But one things for sure, I won't have to worry about dragging her out from under the bed, if anything I will have to set my bed upright after she flips it over. LOL!! (probably won't be that funny, if that actually happens)

I just don't understand how she fits with the way she is growing. I figured one of these times she is going to go under and not gonna be able to get out. We'll see!!
Enjoy the videos....

Come And Get To Know Me

Well, Say hello to Mia! I thought I'd share some pictures with you. She is just so stink'in addorable, I could take pictures all day long!! Let's take a look at her different "beds."

This is where I first set her up a blanket for a bed. If you look to her right someone has there hand on the heater vent. Being that her bloodline irriginated from switzerland, this did not fly with her at all!

It didn't take her long to realize that there is cool air blowing in from behind this blanket and I noticed her laying out here alot so I moved her blanket and.....

.....if i go on the other side it feels just like the swiss alps! (for those of you who don't know, my laundry room has uninsulated french doors, so by putting this blanket up it's like having a insulated stud wall there. It stays bitterly cold out there.)

She finally adapted to living indoors and all of a sudden one day decided to start sleeping here, or I think it's the fact that she sleeps all night and can here everybody's alarm going off to get up and as soon as the girls alarm goes off she starts whining, cuz she knows there coming down the steps soon.

She napped like this one day for a couple of hours? Huh, yeah don't ask cuz I don't have an answer!

I then realized after borrowing my moms crate and having her only a week and she out grew it, so..... I have a little hallway going to the bathroom door and whala!, she has her own little den. When I go away I move her blanket out a little and put up a gate and she sleeps there.

And her MOST favorite place to sleep!

Below are some pictures of Mia with my niece Rylee. Poor girl is 4 years old and Mia is 13 weeks and already out grew her!!!

This was Mia's first christmas with her first gift.

This is the first day Mia was at her new home trying to figure out how to get the water out of her new bowl. She is 8 weeks old.

Below is Mia at 12 weeks old.

Now you probably can't tell much difference in the picture but I taped a piece of paper on the wall and have been weighing and measuring her height once a week.

On Dec. 9th at 7 weeks she was 12.2 lbs. I started doing her hieght at 11 weeks old on Dec 28th. She was 14.6" and weighed in at 19.6 lbs! On Jan. 4th at 12 weeks she grew to 15.6". Yep, 1 inch, and weighed 23.2 lbs. At 13 weeks on Jan. 11th she grew to 16.6", another 1"! And weighed 26 lbs.

Holy Cow!!! is what I said! At this rate she'll out grow the Barnes family in know time! LOL!

I Love It! and I can't wait!!

The first snow.....

Well the girls decided to play in the little bit of snow we had. This is their first snow man.

If you look above you notice a sneaker, yes they had to wear their sneakers. They had no snow boots but they were determined to play. You can't tell but their snow suits are 6" to short for them and pulled up their but crack and they had to go in the basement and find hunting gloves to wear. Yes, I need to go shopping, soon!

I told them to get creative and they did, what a great job, Although they need to find another hat for this one did not bring Frosty to life!!!
